SAMU 192 conducts suicide prevention training in Porto Velho

Emergency medical teams from SAMU 192 in Porto Velho conducted a lecture at the Federal University of Rondônia (Unir) regarding the complexities of responding to suicide attempts. The presentation, part of the 'Yellow September' awareness campaign, focused on the clinical, behavioral, and environmental factors involved in such emergencies.

Emergency nurse Lânderson Gutierres detailed the operational process, from the initial call to the regulation center to the stabilization and referral of the victim. The training emphasized the importance of scene safety, non-judgmental communication, and the necessity of integrated action with the Fire Department and Military Police to manage risks to both victims and professionals.
