Samu conducts first aid and safety training in Brazil
The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) has conducted educational and training initiatives focused on first aid and safety in Brazil.
In Mogi das Cruzes, Samu provided first aid training to approximately 100 professionals from the Municipal Education Secretariat. This training, held at the Escola Municipal Professora Marlene da Silva Maldonado, complies with the federal ‘Lei Lucas’ (Law No. 13.722/2018), which mandates basic first aid training for teachers and staff in educational and recreational settings to ensure preparedness for emergencies like choking or seizures until specialized help arrives.
In a separate community outreach effort, the ‘Samuzito no Dia das Crianças’ program was held at the Escola de Tempo Integral Daniel Batista. Aimed at children aged 5 to 9, the event used educational activities, mascots, and circus performances to teach traffic safety, first aid basics, and how to contact emergency services via the 192 number.
