Samuel Eto'o supports FIFA plan to sell competitions to private investors

Samuel Eto'o, President of the Cameroon Football Federation, has expressed his support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino, stating that Infantino has changed the landscape of football. Eto'o specifically endorsed a plan to sell football competitions to private investors, arguing that such a move could benefit smaller nations and African federations by providing more financial resources for development.

Eto'o noted that while major nations have dominated the media discourse regarding the project, the plan could shift the balance of power in football and ensure that African talent is better supported. He suggested that although the project was temporarily withdrawn to maintain unity within the football family, it should be brought back to the negotiating table following Infantino's re-election. Eto'o believes that a democratic vote would likely approve the project as it would be beneficial for the majority of member associations.
