Samuel García defends federalism in Nuevo León

During the inauguration of the Week of Comparative Public Law at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda emphasized Nuevo León’s commitment to federalism. Speaking to students and faculty at the Faculty of Law and Criminology, García cited Article 124 of the Constitution to argue that state autonomy is essential for the balance of powers and national development.

García described Nuevo León as a “laboratory of innovation,” noting that the federalist model has allowed the state to implement independent policies in health, security, water, mobility, and the economy. He highlighted that this autonomy has facilitated international work tours, resulting in approximately 135 billion pesos in investment and job creation. Other cited successes include universal health coverage, the restructuring of DIF Capullos, and the expansion of the Metro system.
