Samuel Molina wins gold at Para Archery World Series in India

Mexican para-archer Samuel Molina Núñez won his first gold medal in a Para Archery World Series competition held in Ahmedabad, India, from September 5 to 9, 2026.

Competing in the men’s recurve open category, Molina faced Indonesia’s Kholidin in a closely contested final. After trailing early in the match, Molina managed to equalize the score to 5-5 by the end of the fifth set. The title was decided by a single tie-breaking arrow, where Molina shot a perfect 10 to defeat Kholidin, who scored an 8.

Molina, a two-time Paralympian and current 2026 continental ranking leader, views this victory as vital preparation for the 2027 Lima Parapan American Games. His coach, Sandra Loza Tenorio, attributed the success to years of discipline and the support of organizations such as CONADE and Archery Mexico.
