Samuel Salinas Valencia assumes command of Colombia's Third Division

Brigadier General Samuel Salinas Valencia has assumed command of the Colombian Army's Third Division. The military ceremony took place at the Pichincha Military Canton in Cali, Valle del Cauca, and was presided over by Army Commander Major General José Bertulfo Soto.

Salinas Valencia succeeds Brigadier General Javier Hernando Africano López. The new commander will oversee military operations in the strategic and complex southwestern region of Colombia, including areas such as the Micay canyon, Argelia, and El Plateado in the Cauca department.

Salinas Valencia brings extensive operational, administrative, and diplomatic experience to the role. His career includes service in various conflict zones such as Tolima, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, and Valle del Cauca, as well as leadership roles in the Gaula Militares and several army brigades.
