Samurai Jay confronts Erness over song originality on Amici 26

During the television program Amici 26, artistic director Samurai Jay confronted student Erness regarding the originality of the song ‘Colpa mia’, which the student used to secure his place in the competition.

Samurai Jay presented evidence, including expert technical analysis, showing that the track is not an original work but shares the same key, BPM, and harmonic progression as a Spanish urban song released five years ago. The instructor noted that while the song could have been presented as a cover, claiming it as an unreleased original was a serious issue, especially since it granted Erness an opportunity that others did not receive.

Following the confrontation, Erness was visibly distressed and moved to tears. Despite the gravity of the situation, Samurai Jay opted to grant the student a second chance rather than pursuing expulsion, renewing his trust in the student while warning him not to mislead the production or the faculty again.
