Samy Rivers releases documentary on La Velada del Año 6 match

Streamer Samy Rivers has released a new documentary, ‘Más Allá del Ring’, which provides a behind-the-scenes look at her participation in La Velada del Año 6. The production details her six-month preparation and addresses the controversies surrounding her match against RoRo.

Key points of contention highlighted in the documentary include weight requirements and equipment disparities. Rivers expressed frustration regarding weight negotiations, noting she eventually complied with the 50.6 kg official weigh-in requested by the opposing team. Additionally, Rivers addressed the use of different protective gear, describing the experience of striking RoRo while she wore a specific helmet as ‘fighting against a wall.’

RoRo defended the use of her helmet, stating it was a medical necessity rather than a competitive advantage, asserting that ‘in boxing, the winner is not the one with the biggest helmet, but the one who lands more hits.’ The event organizers acknowledged communication failures regarding equipment and preliminary conditions.
