San Alberto Museum Underground Tour Attracts Visitors in Córdoba

The Municipalidad de Córdoba is offering a guided "Aventura subterránea: de la cripta a los sótanos" at the Museo de Arte Religioso San Alberto. The one‑hour tour, scheduled for Friday 7 August, runs at 15:00, 16:00, 17:00 and 18:00 and costs AR$5,000 for residents, AR$3,000 for students and retirees, and AR$7,000 for foreigners.

Participants will explore two interior patios, the burial crypt, the Jesuit printing‑press basement and the colonial kitchen cellar. Highlights include a sculptural group of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Santa Teresa de Jesús and Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús, the statue of Obispo José Antonio de San Alberto, and rooms that illustrate colonial women’s daily life. The museum, originally a 17th‑century residence, also houses the first printing press of Córdoba.

The event aims to showcase the building’s hidden architectural and historical layers to locals and tourists alike.
