San Andrés Tuxtla hosts International Balloon Festival 2026

The 2026 International Balloon Festival has commenced in San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz, running from September 12 to 16. The event features exhibitions and releases of paper balloons crafted by local, national, and Latin American artisans using various techniques and designs.

Activities held at the Aurelio Ballados Lara stadium and the Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada Central Park include cultural performances such as 'Cuatro Elementos, un mismo cielo', traditional mojigangas, and music. The festival also includes a gastronomic and artisanal corridor showcasing regional flavors from Los Tuxtlas.

Recent highlights included a large-scale balloon release and a musical performance by regional Mexican singer Pablo Montero. Local officials, including Mayor Rafa Fararoni Magaña, noted the event's role in promoting regional identity and attracting international tourism.
