San Andrés Tuxtla launches genetic database to prevent prostate cancer

Mayor Rafael Fararoni Magaña has launched an initiative in San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz, to establish a genetic database aimed at the early identification of prostate cancer. The municipality has reportedly become the first in Latin America to acquire kits specifically for this purpose.

Through a collaboration agreement with UROLATAM and the Municipal DIF, the project will initially provide 100 kits. The program focuses on providing preventive tools to men in rural communities and those facing significant barriers to accessing timely healthcare services.
