San Antonino Castillo Velasco: Two youths die in well accident

Two young men, aged 22 and 23, died while performing cleaning and desilting work in a pit approximately 10 meters deep in the municipality of San Antonino Castillo Velasco, Oaxaca.

According to preliminary reports, one individual descended into the pit and was allegedly overcome by accumulated gases, losing consciousness. His companion descended to attempt a rescue but also lost consciousness and died, apparently due to the same cause.

Firefighters from Oaxaca conducted a rescue operation using specialized equipment to recover the bodies. The State Investigation Agency (AEI) has taken over the case, and ministerial authorities stated that forensic examinations will officially determine the cause of death.
