San Antonio Communist Groups Hold Pro‑Cuba Rally Ahead of U.S. 250th Anniversary

Several dozen activists from the Party of Socialism and Liberation and the fringe “Right to Rebel” group gathered on the San Antonio Riverwalk to protest U.S. sanctions on Cuba. The protesters chanted pro‑Cuban slogans, displayed Cuban and Palestinian flags, and distributed Marxist‑Leninist‑Maoist literature from Prairie Fire Publishing, including a book titled “Uphold the Red Flag of the Communist International and its Seventh Congress.”

The rally, held on a near‑100‑degree day, drew a low turnout of tourists and residents. Flyers urged a boycott of elections to end what the activists called U.S. imperialism. Project Unidad, a local social‑justice nonprofit, also participated. Organizers linked the protest to broader anti‑ICE actions and to a previous demonstration against Turning Point USA’s Women’s Leadership Summit in San Antonio.
