San Antonio residents submit 2,000 objections to Route 78 expansion
More than 2,000 formal observations were submitted to the Environmental Impact Service regarding the proposed expansion of Route 78 in Chile. The project, which focuses on the southern access of the highway, has faced significant opposition from residents and local authorities in the San Antonio commune and the surrounding province.
Community members expressed concerns that the initiative would negatively impact daily life and increase costs for families due to the planned installation of toll gantries at various points within the commune. To facilitate the process, local organizations held community workshops at the Caoba de Llolleo location and the municipal building to assist citizens in filing their objections before the deadline.
