San Benedetto del Tronto port expansion and municipal agenda announced

The Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority has approved a three-year operational plan for 2027–2029, which includes significant infrastructure projects for the port of San Benedetto del Tronto. The plan initiates the design phase for the first stage of a northern expansion, often referred to as the third arm, with an allocated budget of 30 million euros. This expansion aims to address the needs of the local fishing fleet, shipbuilding industry, and productive activities. Additionally, the plan prioritizes seabed maintenance and dredging to prevent siltation at the harbor entrance.

Separately, the San Benedetto del Tronto City Council has scheduled a session for November 6 to discuss several administrative matters. The agenda includes the presentation of the administrative mandate program, the approval of the 2027–2029 Single Programming Document (DUP), and discussions regarding the new local hospital. Other topics include budget variations for cultural activities, maintenance of municipal facilities, and the extension of the Piceno University Consortium.
