San Benedetto del Tronto sport fishing event records 216 catches

The XXVI edition of "La Sfida – Memorial Massimo De Nardis", an open FIPSAS drifting competition organized by the Circolo Nautico Sambenedettese, concluded on 31 July–2 August 2026 in the waters off San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. The event, a historic fixture of Italian sport fishing, featured a catch‑and‑release format and attracted crews from several Italian regions. Over the two‑day meet, participants logged a total of 216 catches.

The individual ranking, which serves as qualification for the 2027 Italian Championships of Specialty, was topped by the crew Alien from the Circolo Nautico Pesaro, led by skipper Marco Eusebi. The second and third places went to Topa Gigia of the Birillo Fishing Club (captain Davide Paterlini) and Rumba of the Club Amici del Mare (captain Daniele Lambertini). In the pairs category, the duo Alien and Black Warriors from the Circolo Nautico Pesaro secured the trophy, followed by a mixed pair from the Circolo Nautico Sambenedettese and the Birillo Fishing Club.
