San Benedetto hospital project faces scrutiny over delays

Members of the Democratic Party (PD) have filed an inquiry regarding the status of the new hospital project in San Benedetto del Tronto. The inquiry seeks transparency concerning the allocation of funds and the progress of the construction process.

An institutional agreement signed in July 2023 between the Municipality, the Marche Region, and Ast established a framework for the project. While the Marche Region announced the start of the design assignment procedure in May 2025 with an estimated investment of approximately 170 million euros, recent updates have been scarce.

Although the Marche Single Contracting Station (Suam) published the procedure for the technical-economic feasibility project in September 2025, the process remains in the 'awarding' phase. The last formal update occurred on June 15, following the first tender session, but no official communications regarding the results or final award have been released since.
