San Bernardino County detective wounded in Littlerock shooting, suspect dead

A San Bernardino County sheriff's detective was shot while serving a search warrant in the 13000 block of East Avenue R‑2 near Littlerock, California. The detective was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The suspect involved in the exchange of gunfire was pronounced dead at the scene. Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide detectives assisted the investigation, which remains active. Authorities have asked anyone with information to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:10 p.m. on August 5, 2026, near Avenue R and 130th Street East in the Palmdale area. The detective was later flown to Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster for treatment.
