San Bernardino McDonald’s fire erupts near indoor playground
Firefighters responded to a blaze at a McDonald’s restaurant in San Bernardino, California, on Friday. The fire reportedly started near the establishment’s indoor PlayPlace, with flames spreading inside an exterior wall and between the ceiling and the roof.
San Bernardino County Fire personnel conducted a multi-pronged attack, battling the fire from the exterior, the roof, and the interior of the building. The crews managed to extinguish the blaze in approximately one hour despite high outdoor temperatures in the Inland Empire.
While no civilians were reported injured, one firefighter was transported to a hospital due to a heat-related issue. Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire. The incident occurred in the city where the McDonald’s franchise was originally founded by the McDonald brothers in 1940.
