Chilean authorities investigate fatal incidents in San Bernardo and Valparaíso

Authorities in Chile are investigating two separate violent incidents. In San Bernardo, within the Metropolitan Region, a 36-year-old Ecuadorian man was found dead in his home with apparent stab wounds to his back. The victim, who had been working in construction and was in the country with irregular migratory status, was discovered by a coworker who noticed his absence from work.

In Valparaíso, the Homicide Brigade of the PDI has identified and detained a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man in the Montedónico sector. The victim died from an abdominal gunshot wound. Investigators utilized security camera footage and witness statements to link the suspect to the crime scene.
