San Bonifacio hospital nurse assaulted and attacker arrested

A 47-year-old man has been arrested after assaulting a nurse at the San Bonifacio hospital emergency room in Verona. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Friday, October 2, after the man was transported to the hospital from a local shopping center, where he had been found unconscious.

Upon regaining consciousness, the individual became agitated and struck the assisting nurse in the face. Carabinieri officers from the San Bonifacio Company responded to the emergency call and managed to calm the man through verbal mediation before taking him into custody.

The suspect, who was already known to law enforcement, faces charges of personal injury against healthcare personnel. A judge from the Verona Court validated the arrest, and the hearing has been scheduled for January 2027 following requests for defense terms.
