San Bruno Hospital Silent March Honors Young Victim Andrea

A silent procession was held in Vibo Valentia to mourn Andrea Minasi, a young woman who died while awaiting emergency care at San Bruno Hospital. Organized by the San Bruno Committee, the march began at the municipal building, passed through the city’s main thoroughfares, and ended at the hospital’s courtyard, allowing ambulances to pass unimpeded. Local officials, including Mayor Alfredo Barillari, addressed the crowd, emphasizing the region’s distinct health challenges and declaring a municipal period of mourning. Committee president Rocco La Rizza highlighted longstanding infrastructural deficiencies at the hospital and called for renewed advocacy in Andrea’s name.

The event, attended by citizens, religious leaders, and community groups, featured prayers led by Don Nicola Ierardi and a minute of silence. Organizers said the march will continue the broader struggle for better healthcare services in the area, pledging to resume advocacy efforts soon.
