Regional infrastructure projects launched across Spain and Mexico

Various regional governments in Spain and Mexico are undertaking significant infrastructure projects focused on sanitation, flood prevention, and road maintenance.

In Ecatepec, Mexico, authorities are investing 80 million pesos to combat flooding in the Las Américas and Jardines de Morelos communities by modernizing pumping stations and replacing inadequate piping. Additionally, the municipality has begun repaving Circuito Morelia Norte in Jardines de Morelos, addressing over 20 years of road deterioration.

In Spain, several major works are underway. The Government of Cantabria has tendered contracts worth over 18.6 million euros for the operation and modernization of wastewater treatment plants in San Román and Reinosa. In Galicia, the Ministry for Ecological Transition is investing nearly 40 million euros to sanitize the Barbaña River and improve the San Cibrao das Viñas treatment plant. Other local projects include new sewage collectors in Ogíjares, road improvements in Cangas, and parking upgrades in Tenerife.

In Tampico, Mexico, COMAPA SUR is replacing drainage infrastructure on Avenida Ejército Mexicano to prevent leaks and obstructions. Meanwhile, in El Puerto de Santa María, officials clarified that recent beach closures were due to heavy rainfall affecting water quality rather than failures in the local wastewater treatment plant.
