San Clemente municipality launches election for new Civil Society Council
The Municipality of San Clemente (Chile) announced the election of a new Civil Society Council for the 2026‑2030 term. The council will serve as an advisory body to ensure local community participation in the commune’s economic, social, and cultural development. It will consist of 4 members representing territorial community organizations, 4 members representing functional community groups, 2 members representing public interest organizations, and 2 members representing relevant organizations, with potential additional representatives from guild and union associations.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old (except for certain representatives), have at least one year of affiliation with the relevant organization, be Chilean or a foreign resident, and have no criminal convictions. Candidate registration takes place at the municipal secretariat from July 24‑30, 2026, 09:00‑16:00. Voting will be public on August 1, 2026, from 09:00‑17:00 at the former San Clemente school (ex‑school 21), open to legal representatives of registered organizations and other authorized persons.
