San Cristóbal de Las Casas implements health transparency and inclusion programs

In San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, state health officials and municipal authorities have launched new initiatives focused on regulatory transparency and social inclusion.

Luis Ignacio Avendaño Bermúdez, the state Secretary of Health, met with local business groups, including Abatur and Canaco Servytur, to promote the transparent provision of goods and services. The initiative aims to prevent sanitary risks and ensure strict compliance with health regulations. To prevent extortion, the Secretary noted that sanitary inspections are being recorded.

Simultaneously, the municipal government launched the ‘Mi Barrio Inclusivo’ (My Inclusive Neighborhood) program. Led by the Municipal Coordination for the Attention of Persons with Disabilities, the program held its first session in the Mexicanos neighborhood. Activities included painting and signaling blue spaces and ramps to improve accessibility, as well as providing guidance on government services for people with disabilities.
