San Cristóbal hosts South American Games 2026 torch relay

The South American Games 2026 torch relay passed through the city of San Cristóbal, Santa Fe, featuring a tribute to Ian Cabrera. The event brought together family, friends, and colleagues of Cabrera during the torch's passage through the department.

The Olympic flame, which arrived from Bolivia, is currently traveling through the province of Santa Fe as part of the countdown to the games scheduled for September 12 to 26, 2026. Previous stops included San Lorenzo, Coronda, Recreo, Esperanza, and Santa Fe city.

In San Cristóbal, the relay included visits to four local sports institutions: Club Deportivo y Cultural Ferro Dho, Club Atlético Independiente, Racing Lawn Tennis Club, and Rivadavia Básquetbol Club. The city also hosted various interactive activities, including simulators, virtual reality, and sports demonstrations.
