San Cristóbal school infrastructure projects accelerate construction

The Dominican Republic government, through the School Infrastructure Directorate (DIE), has ordered the acceleration of various educational construction projects in the San Cristóbal province. These works include the construction of new classrooms, school expansions, renovations, and the completion of childcare centers and sports shelters.

Supervised by DIE Director Roberto Herrera, the initiative aims to benefit more than 4,600 students. Key projects include the Uranias Montás Basic School in Villa Altagracia, which features 27 new classrooms, and the San Antonio Basic School in Haina, which includes 23 classrooms. Other developments include Liceo La Planta, the Villa Juana Childcare Center, and expansions at Maria Trinidad Sánchez Primary School and Salomé Ureña Primary and Secondary School.

Additionally, the director ordered the resumption of previously stalled construction at Victoriana López Arias Primary School and the 27 de Febrero Basic School, which together will provide 25 classrooms.
