San Diego City Council votes to define Islamophobia

The San Diego City Council has voted unanimously to officially define the term ‘Islamophobia’. The council stated that the move is intended to combat growing anti-Muslim hate and provide a basis for prosecuting offenders.

The decision follows a May 18 incident at the Islamic Center of San Diego, where two teenagers motivated by white nationalism murdered three men before taking their own lives.
