San Diego FC to host San Jose Earthquakes in MLS playoff hunt

Following a 1-0 loss to Orlando City, head coach Mikey Varas stated the team is “on a mission” to find consistency and secure necessary points during the league's final stretch.

San Jose Earthquakes enter the match in sixth place with 35 points, five points ahead of San Diego. The Earthquakes are coming off a 1-1 draw against Austin FC, where a 97th-minute equalizer prevented a victory. Head coach Bruce Arena noted the team's need to improve their ability to close out games.

Historically, the two clubs have split their four previous meetings. While San Jose won their most recent clash 3-0, San Diego has maintained a strong home record, winning their last five games at home.
