San Diego State begins inaugural Pac-12 football season

San Diego State begins its 104th football season this Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium, hosting Portland State in a non-conference matchup. This marks the Aztecs' inaugural season as members of the Pac-12 Conference, a transition that officially took place on July 1, 2026.

Under head coach Sean Lewis, the team is looking to build on a 9-4 season from 2025. Key players expected to influence the game include senior running back Lucky Sutton, who previously led the Mountain West with 1,297 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.

The upcoming Pac-12 schedule will feature a seven-game conference slate, with the Aztecs set to play their first conference game against Texas State on October 3.
