San Diego State football advances through fall camp
The San Diego State Aztecs football team is progressing through fall camp as they prepare for the upcoming season and the rejuvenated Pac-12 Conference. The team recently completed its first fall scrimmage, which utilized referees to simulate a game-like environment for the offense and defense.
Head coach Sean Lewis noted that the scrimmage allowed players to practice live tackling and communication under game-like conditions. The team is scheduled to host a public scrimmage, ‘First Saturday at Snapdragon,’ at Snapdragon Stadium, with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. and the event starting at 5:30 p.m.
Defensive preparations are being led by new EDGE coach Colin Ferrell, who brings 15 years of NCAA Division I experience. The defensive unit, which ranked sixth in the FBS in scoring defense last year, is integrating several new players, including transfers and freshmen such as Kai Wallin, Djibril Rahman, and Brady Nassar.
