San Diego State football begins full-pad scrimmages

The San Diego State football team has entered its first scrimmage session of fall camp, marking the first time players have worn full pads this season. Head Coach Sean Lewis noted that the session aimed to create a game-like environment with referees officiating to test player communication, situational awareness, and tackling ability.

The roster features significant turnover, with 60 new players—more than half the roster—joining the team. Among the notable transfers expected to impact the lineup are placekicker Noah Serna from Cal Poly, linebacker Sione Hala from Weber State, and nose tackle Gavriel Lightfoot, formerly of Colorado.
