College football season opens with Arizona State and San Diego State matchups

Several NCAA college football programs are set to begin their 2026 seasons this Saturday, September 5.

Arizona State University will host Morgan State University at Mountain America Stadium. This matchup marks the first time in program history that the Sun Devils will face an HBCU. While Morgan State enters the game with an all-time 0-23 record against FBS competition, the trip provides the Bears with significant exposure and a $600,000 athletic department payout. In San Diego, San Diego State University will host Portland State University at Snapdragon Stadium.
