San Diego Tijuana Jazz Festival announces binational programming
The third edition of the San Diego Tijuana Jazz Festival will be held as a binational event, featuring activities in Tijuana and Southern California. The festival has expanded its programming to four days, including free concerts for the community in Tijuana.
In Tijuana, activities are scheduled for Friday, October 2, and Sunday, October 4. The Sunday program includes performances by the Binational Youth Ensemble Young Lions Jazz Conservatory, the Instituto Contemporáneo de Música de Baja California, Lucía and the Familia Gutiérrez, and Brian Blade and the Fellowship Band. The event will conclude with Panamanian pianist Danilo Pérez performing alongside La Covacha Big Band from Ensenada.
The festival returns to Quinta Street on Avenida Revolución, a location used for such gatherings since 2011, following two years of relocation due to remodeling work.
