Italy hosts various regional religious and patron saint festivals

Various Italian communities are holding traditional religious festivals and patron saint celebrations throughout September.

In Crotone and Avella, programs dedicated to San Pio da Pietrelcina include rosaries, Eucharistic celebrations, and processions. Ruvo di Puglia is also observing the feast of San Pio with a torchlight procession and hot air balloon displays.

Other regional celebrations include the feast of the Madonna del Colera in San Donà di Piave, attended by the Bishop of Genoa, and the feast of the Madonna Addolorata in Monterosso Almo, featuring processions and fireworks. In Teano, the community is celebrating the Saints Cosma and Damiano with special services for healthcare workers.

Local festivities also feature cultural and community events, such as the feast of the Gesù Bambino di Praga in Remeneglia, the Madonna Ausiliatrice in Barzanò, and the Madonna Vergine di Loreto in Guidonia. In Villa d’Agri, the feast of the Beata Vergine Addolorata included a participatory art performance. Additionally, in Sanremo, preparations are underway for the upcoming celebrations of the Madonna del Rosario and San Romolo.
