San Donato Val di Comino celebrates War Memorial centenary
San Donato Val di Comino is celebrating the centenary of its War Memorial, which was originally inaugurated on September 26, 1926, in Piazza Carlo Coletti. The monument was established to honor local residents who fell during the Great War.
The commemorative event, organized by the municipality and the Museo del Novecento e della Shoah, includes a ceremony featuring a wreath-laying by the Carabinieri, historical reports, and a musical tribute. The program also includes a museum visit to view original documents related to the monument's 1926 inauguration. Mayor Enrico Pittiglio emphasized the importance of passing this historical memory to younger generations to promote the value of peace.
