San Esteban de Gormaz launches 1 million euro tourism digitalization project

San Esteban de Gormaz has launched the ‘Integral Digital Transformation of Tourism: Immersive and Sustainable Experience’ (TDITES) project to modernize its local tourism offerings. The initiative utilizes digital tools, immersive experiences, and new heritage dissemination formats to enhance the visitor experience.

The project involves a total investment of 1,053,000 euros, with 904,000 euros provided by European funds. Mayor Daniel García noted that the municipality is the smallest in Spain to secure this level of funding, competing against larger cities like Valladolid and Oviedo. The local government aims to increase annual visitor numbers from the current 15,000–20,000 range to 100,000 through these digital advancements.
