San Felipe hosts second Miradas Mayores Film Festival

The second edition of the Miradas Mayores Film Festival is concluding in San Felipe, Chile, at the Liceo Dr. Roberto Humeres. Held during the Month of Older Persons, the event aims to use cinema to highlight the lives, needs, and perspectives of senior citizens.

The festival features a program of Chilean cinema and Ibero-American short films. The closing ceremony includes an awards presentation for categories such as Best Short Film, Best Direction, and Best Acting. The final screening will be the film ‘Me rompiste el corazón’, directed by Boris Quercia, which tells the story of Roberto Parra Sandoval, the creator of cueca chora.

Actress and former Minister of Culture Paulina Urrutia participated in the event, noting that the festival serves as a creative link and a way to address the evolving human life expectancy. She emphasized that individuals over 60 remain highly active and capable, representing a significant and new stage of human evolution.
