San Felipe police arrest thief using GPS to recover stolen iPhone

In San Felipe, Chile, the PDI Criminal Investigation Brigade arrested a Colombian national for the theft of an iPhone 16. The device, valued at 750,000 pesos, was tracked using its built-in GPS technology.

Working in coordination with the victim, investigators located the suspect in the Toma de San Felipe at the moment he was attempting to sell the stolen phone. The suspect admitted to snatching the device during a moment of distraction. The phone was recovered and returned to its owner, and the individual has been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
