San Fernando and San Bartolomé award contracts for expanded Christmas lighting

The city council of San Fernando in Spain has opened a tender for the supply, installation, maintenance and later removal of the extraordinary Christmas lighting. The new contract expands illumination beyond the historic centre to residential neighbourhoods, adding 68% more banderolas on Calle Real, LED curtains on Calle Rosario and additional festive signage and photocal spaces in several plazas.

The municipality of San Bartolomé has also published a tender, covering rental, installation, upkeep, dismantling and storage of ornamental Christmas lighting for the 2026‑2027 season. The contract is valued at €284,548.60 and aims to energise commercial areas, improve the town’s image and avoid the timing problems that have affected other municipalities in recent years.

Both tenders seek external companies to provide the lighting services, reflecting a broader push by Spanish towns to enhance holiday attractions and support local commerce.
