San Fernando approves Low Emission Zone affecting 30,000 vehicles

San Fernando has approved an ordinance to establish a Low Emission Zone (ZBE) that will impact approximately 30,000 vehicles. The restrictions specifically target vehicles with a 'B' label and those without any environmental certification, which together account for nearly 48% of the city's total fleet of 59,586 vehicles.

The ZBE will cover roughly 44.7 hectares of the urban center, including streets such as Plaza del Castillo, Colón, and Rosario. While the ordinance is officially published, the restrictions have not yet been implemented, and a specific activation schedule has not been established. The implementation is expected to be progressive, allowing access to the restricted area during certain hours.
