San Fernando begins repairs on Sendero del Carrascón
The San Fernando City Council has begun repair and improvement works on the Sendero del Carrascón, a 2.2-kilometer natural route used for walking, running, and cycling. The project has a budget of 201,217.16 euros and is expected to take between four and six weeks, depending on weather conditions.
The intervention aims to repair damage caused by winter storms, specifically addressing erosion, material loss, and damage to hydraulic elements. Improvements include cleaning the path, regularizing the surface, replacing materials, and reinforcing slopes and edges with riprap to increase resistance to future weather events. The path is part of the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park and connects to the EuroVelo route.
