San Francisco 49ers bolster offense with Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has expressed excitement regarding the team’s offensive additions for the upcoming season, specifically highlighting veteran wide receivers Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel.

Purdy praised Evans for his veteran presence and ability to act as a threat in the red zone, noting that he has been learning from the receiver’s experience playing with quarterbacks like Tom Brady and Baker Mayfield. Samuel also returns to the 49ers following a stint with the Washington Commanders.

During a recent scrimmage against the Los Angeles Chargers, Mike Evans drew social media attention for wearing modified, short-cut uniform pants during warm-ups. Despite the distraction, Evans appeared to be moving well during practice. Head coach Kyle Shanahan previously noted that Evans was pulled from practice as a precaution due to quad tightness, following a quad strain reported earlier in August.
