San Francisco 49ers evaluate roster depth and trade options

Following a 29-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons that ended their undefeated streak, the San Francisco 49ers are entering a bye week to address roster depth and injury concerns. Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that the personnel department is actively discussing potential trades ahead of the November 10 deadline to bolster the team for a playoff run.

While the team expects several key players to return from injury after the break—including Nick Bosa, Deebo Samuel, and Mike Evans—insiders suggest the front office may pursue two or three trades to strengthen the defense. Potential targets mentioned include Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby.

In recent roster movements, the 49ers released veteran wide receiver Malik Turner from the practice squad and signed defensive lineman Kevin Givens. The team's next matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders has seen a slight kickoff time adjustment to 1:25 p.m. PT.
