San Francisco 49ers host edge rusher Jah Joyner for tryout

The San Francisco 49ers hosted edge rusher Jah Joyner for a tryout on Wednesday as the team continues to evaluate depth for its defensive front ahead of final roster cuts.

Joyner, a former Minnesota standout, previously spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders after going undrafted in 2025. He also played in the UFL for the Dallas Renegades and the Houston Gamblers. Standing 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 265 pounds, Joyner has previously sought opportunities with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The tryout comes at a critical time for San Francisco, which is exploring options at the position due to injuries and roster management. The team also held workouts for other defensive linemen, including Viliami Fehoko, Ron Stone, and Diwun Black. The 49ers are scheduled to play their preseason finale against the Raiders on Thursday.
