Kendal Daniels leads Falcons to upset victory over 49ers following injury recovery

Atlanta Falcons rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels played a pivotal role in the team's 29-20 upset victory over the previously undefeated San Francisco 49ers. Just one week prior, Daniels was stretchered off the field and hospitalized following a severe neck-related collision with Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland.

Returning to the field for Week 7, Daniels recorded a team-high 11 tackles, including nine solo efforts. He secured two critical turnovers in the fourth quarter: a fourth-quarter interception of Brock Purdy and a fumble recovery that helped seal the win.

Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski described the performance as “remarkable.” Daniels noted the mental challenge of returning to play without being “timid” after such a frightening injury, stating, “I’ve never not walked off the field after an injury.”
