San Francisco 49ers maintain 4-0 start led by veterans and improved offensive line

The San Francisco 49ers have secured a 4-0 start to the 2026 season, driven by a combination of veteran offensive production and an improved offensive line. In their recent 24-14 victory over the Denver Broncos, the team relied heavily on experienced players. Deebo Samuel, Christian McCaffrey, and George Kittle provided key scoring contributions.

The 49ers' veteran pass-catchers have set an NFL record by recording 11 receiving touchdowns by players aged 30 or older through the first four games. George Kittle has accounted for four of these touchdowns.

Offensive lineman Trent Williams attributed the unit's recent success to increased self-belief and confidence. Williams noted that the group, which includes players like Colton McKivitz, Dom Puni, and Jake Brendel, has transitioned from a mediocre unit to one of the best in the league. The offensive line has notably protected quarterback Brock Purdy throughout the early part of the season.
