San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk faces arrest warrant for speeding

The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk on a misdemeanor charge of exhibition of speeding. The warrant stems from a December video posted by Aiyuk that showed him driving well above the 40 mph limit near Levi’s Stadium.

Aiyuk apologized on social media, saying, “Sorry y’all, my car content won’t come with speeding anymore.” He remains on the 49ers’ reserve/left‑squad list while rehabbing a knee injury that sidelined him since October 2024. The team previously voided $27 million of guaranteed money after he missed meetings and rehab sessions. General manager John Lynch has indicated he does not expect Aiyuk to play for the 49ers again, and the franchise is exploring a trade or possible release. Aiyuk’s three‑year remaining portion of a four‑year, $120 million extension now carries no guaranteed money.
