San Francisco 49ers rookie Kaelon Black manages groin injury

San Francisco 49ers rookie running back Kaelon Black was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice due to a groin injury. Head coach Kyle Shanahan stated that the team is “just being smart with him” and expressed no significant concern regarding his availability for the upcoming Week 2 game against the Dolphins.

Black made a strong NFL debut in the team's Week 1 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, recording 14 carries for 65 yards. His performance allowed the team to manage the workload of veteran starter Christian McCaffrey. Quarterback Brock Purdy and offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak both praised Black's explosive running style and his ability to read gaps, noting that his presence provides a valuable rotation to keep McCaffrey fresh.
