San Francisco 49ers safety Malik Mustapha faces fine for hit on Stefon Diggs

San Francisco 49ers safety Malik Mustapha is facing a potential fine following a controversial hit on Washington Commanders wide receiver Stefon Diggs during Monday Night Football.

The hit occurred on a third-and-5 pass from quarterback Jayden Daniels to Diggs. While officials did not call a penalty during the game, broadcast commentators noted the hit appeared to be an illegal blow to the head and neck area. The play resulted in an incompletion, preventing a first down and contributing to a drive that ended in a field goal for the Commanders rather than a touchdown.
